Leslie Baumann, M.D. is Professor and Director of Cosmetic Dermatology at the Miller School of Medicine at the University of Miami. She founded the university's internationally recognized Cosmetic Center (UMCC) in 1997, which was the first of its kind in the United States.

Dr. Baumann has performed many research trials including the research trial that led to the approval of Botox for wrinkles, Hylaform and Hylaform Plus for wrinkles, the approval of Tri-Luma for melasma and many others. In 2002, Dr. Baumann's textbook "Cosmetic Dermatology: Principles and Practice" was published. It is now a best seller and is available in 4 languages and is the text used by all training cosmetic dermatologists.

In addition, Dr. Baumann writes a monthly column called "Cosmeceutical Critique" in Skin and Allergy News, a leading dermatology newspaper. Dr. Baumann and her research team continue to use the "Baumann Skin Typing System" to further study how skin care products and procedures affect the cosmetic appearance of the skin. In addition to research and patient care, Dr. Baumann trains international dermatologists from around the world on a monthly basis in addition to the University of Miami dermatology residents.
